At PPCS Specialist Services Division, we use state-of-the-art equipment and techniques to assess and address water damage accurately. Our certified professionals are trained to identify the water category quickly and implement the appropriate response plan to mitigate further damage and health risks.
Whether it’s a clean water leak or a severe black water flood, our team is equipped to handle the situation promptly and effectively, ensuring your property is safe, clean, and restored to its pre-damage condition.
Water damage can be complex and varies in severity. Most water damage can be traced back to causes that relate to storm damage, leaky roofs, faulty corroded plumbing, storm drain backup, fire-suppression efforts. All businesses will at some stage experience these issues. We classify the severity into three categories, each requiring a unique approach.
Water which is clean at the releasing source and does not pose a hazard if consumed by humans such as burst water pipes to taps, dishwashers. However, prompt action is essential because, over time, Category 1 water can degrade into Category 2 or 3, increasing health risks and damage.
Water which begins with some degree of contamination and could cause sickness or discomfort if consumed by humans such as discharge from dishwashers or washing machines, overflow from toilet bowls, water from sink or shower drains.
Water that is grossly contaminated and can contain toxigenic, or other harmful agents such as pesticides, toxic organic substances, silt, organic matter such as sewage, toilet backflows, all forms of flooding from storms or other weather-related events
After initial water damage control, we focus on structural drying to rid of the water as quickly as possible. This involves using specialised equipment to remove moisture from building materials of a property – gib board, flooring, framing. Preventing mould growth and maintaining the integrity of the structure and is an important part of post-flood remediation.
We provide mould testing, reporting, and remediation services, especially vital in cases where water damage has led to mould development. Our approach includes either surface sampling or air sampling to detect if any mould spores are present in the indoor air, and to accurately identify to then devise an effective remediation plan. Black mould, also known as Stachybortrys chartarum, is both unsightly and a serious health risk for humans. The spores released by black mould can cause serious harm to humans when ingested or inhaled.
