FAQ

Why should we consider a carpet maintenance programme?

If you don’t regularly clean your carpet, you’ll have to deal with unpleasant odours, unsightly stains and – ultimately – a hefty bill to replace it! Premature failure is unnecessary – the right maintenance programme will improve the life of your carpet.

When developing a maintenance programme, we suggest establishing a frequency of cleaning in line with the carpet manufacturer’s recommendations. We’ll also share our experience in aged-care facility carpet maintenance and industry best practices.

The carpet looks ok – why should we bother cleaning it?
  • Health benefits: Your carpet acts as a filter, trapping dirt, dust, food particles, and other contaminants. Regular vacuuming will only remove around 74% of dry dirt, while the rest remains in the carpet until someone completes a hot water extraction clean! Carpets can also be reservoirs for allergy-causing substances that trigger asthma. Deep, hot water extraction cleaning of the carpet regularly can help reduce the presence of fleas, dust mites, and other allergens found in the carpet.
  • Odour control: Regular and professional cleaning helps remove unpleasant odours trapped in the carpet. Odour is a problem in aged-care facilities if you don’t pay enough attention to carpet and upholstery cleaning. Body fluids spilt on carpet and upholstery should receive immediate attention to assist with odour control.
  • Unsightly stains: Spills and spots are inevitable, but they don’t have to be permanent. There should be an immediate reaction to remove incidental spills from the surface of your carpet. Remove contaminants as quickly as possible to prevent spills on the carpet from becoming permanent stains.
  • Environmental impact: Many organisations shout from the rooftops about sustainable business practices, yet most stand on an often forgotten and misunderstood opportunity – the carpet they walk all over! Don’t unnecessarily dump thousands of square meters of neglected carpet into landfills – we can help you do better! We designed our core services specifically to prolong the useful life of carpet flooring.
  • Professional image: Badly maintained carpet can make or break the image an organisation is trying to portray to its customers, staff and visitors. A clean, well-maintained carpet shows organisations care about the surroundings in which they go about their business!
