Sustainability

PPCS is committed to being environmentally and socially responsible, and to complement our clients’ sustainability goals and objectives. PPCS’s dedication to sustainability is evident in every aspect of our day-to-day operations, from our strict health & safety procedures for our staff, to procuring consumables that are produced from sustainable sources.

PPCS has a dedicated Sustainability Manager who oversees all of PPCS’s policies and systems to make sure that our sustainability targets are being met.

PPCS’s sustainability focuses can be laid out in four key areas.

PEOPLE

PPCS’s biggest resource and asset is its people, who consistently work hard to provide our clients with the best possible service. PPCS therefore endeavours to promote a strong culture of respect, encouragement, and continuous training & improvement, which is conducive to employees realising their full potential. Our aim is to become one of the most attractive employers in this industry.

PPCS views the safety of our staff and everyone who uses the facilities that we service as our utmost priority. PPCS therefore has in place a comprehensive Health & Safety policy and system to make sure that all our services are carried out in accordance with Health & Safety best practices and that all risks are minimised.

ENVIRONMENT

PPCS’s commitment to environmentally sustainable business practices is backed by our National Head Office's ISO 14001 environmental management certification.

We are also members of the Sustainable Business Network, which aims to promote environmentally best practices among businesses.

PPCS takes the caring for the environment seriously. We put this in practice by:

  • Using environmentally friendly cleaning chemicals and agents
  • Using the latest equipment, technology, and methods which aim to minimise the use of power, water, and chemicals
  • Reducing carbon emissions by using fuel efficient vehicles

At PPCS, we are continuously looking at new ways to reduce our environmental footprint. We are convinced that a cleaner property should not come at the expense of a dirtier planet.

Procurement

PPCS makes sure that our sustainability practices and goals are shared by all the partners that we work with.

One of our major sustainability objectives is to manage indirect impacts in the supply chain by collaborating with our key suppliers to secure an improvement in our environmental performance and their own.

This means that environmental sustainability is a main consideration factor when we decide on our suppliers. A good example is our paper supply, which is sourced from sustainable sources only.

At PPCS, we are continuously looking at new ways to reduce our environmental footprint. We are convinced that a cleaner property should not come at the expense of a dirtier planet.

Community

As a New Zealand owned and operated company, PPCS’s goal is to make sure that we exert a positive effect on the communities in which we operate. We do this by committing to fair business practices, providing local employment opportunities to people of diverse backgrounds, and supporting local community events.
